Justin Palmer Interview

Justin started playing guitar in is early teens under the guidance and encouragement of his dad. Both being avid rockers, Justin learned quickly and as he improved, his dad realized he would learn quicker with an expert teacher. That’s when they came to Littleton Guitar School.

Justin continued improving at a very fast rate, learning proper technique, music theory and ear training. As he improved, his confidence increased, and he began playing in front of anyone who would listen. Now he is a professional performer playing solo gigs at a local country club and is looking to make a career with his guitar skills. Here is what Justin has to say about his experience.

LGS: How did you view guitar lessons before you started taking lessons with Littleton Guitar School?

JP: Before I took lessons with Ken I thought it was just some guy that taught you how to play songs and maybe some scales.

LGS: How has that perception about guitar lessons changed?

JP: After taking lessons with Ken they are much more than just learning songs and scales. Ken has shared his love of guitar and music which really impacts every lesson.

LGS: Name 3 things you understand or can do now, that you didn’t understand or couldn’t do before you began guitar lessons with Littleton Guitar School:

JP:

  1. How to construct a sweet solo.
  2. Using techniques such as bends, slides and vibrato properly.
  3. Building blocks for songwriting.

LGS: What is your favorite thing about the guitar lessons?

JP: My favorite thing about going to lessons is that for an hour once a week I was able to go into a friendly environment have fun and learn how to play guitar and relieve stress.

LGS: If you were to recommend me to a friend who wanted to learn to play the guitar, what would you tell them?

JP: If I were to recommend Ken to a friend I would tell them if they were serious about learning guitar and wanted to succeed that he is the best option. You can’t get the quality of lessons from anyone else and that it is such a great experience that Ken provides.

LGS: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

JP: I would like to add that after my lessons with Ken I have great confidence in my ability to play. Before lessons I would have never taken a two hour gig, but now I play two hour gigs almost every month. Ken isn’t just a great guitar teacher but just a great person and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn guitar.
