Ron Lamberson Review

Ron L - Littleton Guitar LessonsRon works in the banking industry and likes to relax by playing electric guitar, hanging out with his family, and attending concerts.

Ron started guitar lessons at Littleton Guitar School with the goal of understanding how music and the guitar work, as well as becoming a better overall player. Here is an interview with Ron and his feelings about the learning experience at Littleton Guitar School.

LGS: How did you view guitar lessons before you started taking lessons with Littleton Guitar School?

RL: I had the false sense that I could teach myself to play at the level that I wanted. I was also apprehensive about lessons because my only other prior experience had been pretty negative. I had an instructor who seemed disinterested with me and was highly critical.

LGS: How has that perception about guitar lessons changed?

RL: While the one-on-one lessons I had were very valuable, the group approach has really pushed me to try to keep pace with other students.

LGS: Name 3 things you understand or can do now, that you didn’t understand or couldn’t do before you began guitar lessons with Littleton Guitar School:

RL:

  1. Music theory – I had absolutely no knowledge coming into the lessons, but what I’ve learned has been invaluable and interesting
  2. Practice techniques that have improved my skills and made practice something I look forward to
  3. Play solos over nearly any song or backing track

LGS: What is your favorite thing about the guitar lessons?

RL: It’s a combination of always learning something new, the camaraderie, the challenge, and the chance to play music with others.

LGS: If you were to recommend me to a friend who wanted to learn to play the guitar, what would you tell them?

RL: If you’re willing to put in a very reasonable amount of practice time, you can improve your playing dramatically. I would tell my friend that the lessons are fun, challenging, and rooted in the things that you’re interested in. I’d tell him/her that it’s the highlight of my week!

LGS: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

RL: Taking lessons and learning from Ken has enabled me to play at a level I wasn’t sure I could achieve. I have a tremendous amount to learn, but my confidence has reached a level where I know I’ll be able to continue to develop with additional lessons and practice. It may sound cheesy, but Ken has helped me achieve a dream. I can’t thank him enough!
