Lucy H Review

Lucy H - Littleton Guitar Lessons

Lucy had been playing guitar off and on for 4-5 years when she started guitar lessons in 2012. She is currently in high school and active is choir, ultimate frisbee, and debate when she’s not playing guitar.

Lucy started guitar lessons at Littleton Guitar School with the goal of developing a better musical “ear” and overcoming some issues with barre chords. Here is an interview with Lucy and her feelings about the learning experience at Littleton Guitar School.

LGS: How did you view guitar lessons before you started taking lessons with Littleton Guitar School?

LH:They were a place to learn chords and figure out songs.

LGS: How has that perception about guitar lessons changed?

LH: Now I know there’s so much more about guitar. There’s so much theory that can be integrated and it makes everything more interesting and in depth. I really look forward to my lesson every week.

LGS: Name 3 things you understand or can do now, that you didn’t understand or couldn’t do before you began guitar lessons with Littleton Guitar School:

LH:

  1. Solo
  2. Play the blues
  3. Different types of chords besides open and bar chords

LGS: What is your favorite thing about the guitar lessons?

LH: Learning the theory is great, the why and how of music, but I also just love the atmosphere. I’m in lessons with two guys and we always have a good time, laugh and talk and learn guitar at the same time. It turns it from being a chore to something that’s enjoyable. It makes me want to practice during the week so I can come back better the next week and learn even more.

LGS: If you were to recommend me to a friend who wanted to learn to play the guitar, what would you tell them?

LH:Be prepared to learn new stuff, be challenged, and have a lot of fun playing. It’s definitely different from other lessons because Ken goes more in depth into guitar, but you’ll get an appreciation for your instrument and a drive to learn from it.

LGS: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

LH: These lessons are one of my favorite things about my week. I love guitar, it’s such a wonderful instrument, and I’ve grown to really love it more. I personally love the theory part, the how and why of guitar, so these lessons are perfect for me in that sense, since we don’t just learn what but why as well. And I love the atmosphere of it all. I currently am in a group lesson with two guys, neither of which I really know outside the lessons, but that doesn’t matter because we connect over guitar and music and are able to have a great time while making some rad music.
