Ginny H Review

Ginny H

Ginny began guitar lessons with Ken at age 8, and has continues to take lessons at Littleton Guitar School. Now a teenager, she is discovering a deeper meaning of music and playing the guitar.

Ginny started guitar lessons as a total beginner, stayed dedicated and persevered, and is enjoying growing as a performer, singer, and guitar player. Here is an interview with Ginny and her feelings about the learning experience at Littleton Guitar School.

LGS: How did you view guitar lessons before you started taking lessons with Littleton Guitar School?

GH: I did not take guitar lessons before Ken K. I always thought that guitar was awesome and I’ve always wanted to play it. The guitar lessons seemed fun and a great way to interact with other people in the same environment.

LGS: How has that perception about guitar lessons changed?

GH: Well, the perception of guitar lessons has not changed that much at all. I have learned LOTS of new things that I never knew were possible. Working with other people in the same lesson helped me learn new songs I never thought of learning, and helped me experience new ways of learning.

LGS: Name 3 things you understand or can do now, that you didn’t understand or couldn’t do before you began guitar lessons with Littleton Guitar School:

GH:

  1. Bar Chords
  2. The names of the strings and the notes on the fret board
  3. Chord changes along with the strum/rhythm of the songs

LGS: What is your favorite thing about the guitar lessons?

GH: Having it be a safe spot. I am always scared of messing up and people’s reactions to when I mess up. At the guitar lessons everyone messes up and they don’t judge you, they give you the courage to keep going like nothing ever happened.

LGS: If you were to recommend me to a friend who wanted to learn to play the guitar, what would you tell them?

GH: I would tell them that Ken K is the best of the best at teaching guitar. His lessons are fun, helpful, and very hard working. There is never something bad about the lessons. Ken K isn’t just your guitar teacher, he can end up being your best friend. He is always there to talk to and always gives the best advice. In the lessons it isn’t just “here, play this” or just tab after tab. He wants to know what you want to learn and will help you learn by ear what the chords are and the rhythm. He makes things fun and enjoyable for a whole hour. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to learn from Ken K.

LGS: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

GH: I owe ALL of my success in guitar to Ken K. I am starting to teach my dad. Without Ken teaching me how to play guitar, that suggestion would have never been thought of. Without Ken K teaching me guitar, I don’t know how I would let of my steam when I’m in a rough spot. My guitar is always next to my bed, so whenever I need it I can grab and I can play it as hard as I want. I always worry about losing friends, but I know that my guitar will always be there for me when I need it be. It won’t ever leave me. I like to think that it’s my best friend. I know that I can’t really talk to it about my problems, but it is there to play and sing my problems through. Guitar will ALWAYS be a part of my life.
