Chrissy Fagerholt Interview

Chrissy F - Highlands Ranch

Chrissy was an absolute beginner when she started lessons at Littleton Guitar School. As a stay-at-home mom, she was looking for a way to enrich her personal life with something that she’d always wanted to do, while also inspiring her kids to be musical in their own lives.

Chrissy is now able to play chords and strum her favorite songs, as well as using the guitar to help bond her relationship with her two boys. Here is an interview with Chrissy and her feelings about the learning experience at Littleton Guitar School.

LGS: How did you view guitar lessons before you started taking lessons with Littleton Guitar School?

CF:I viewed lessons as something a kid does when he/she is growing up and more times than not being there only because he/she’s parents are making them.

LGS: How has that perception about guitar lessons changed?

CF: Lessons are for everyone, regardless of age. The nice thing about being an adult and making the decision to take lessons is understanding it takes time, money and patience to do so but it is on your terms so you want to put in the effort.

LGS: Name 3 things you understand or can do now, that you didn’t understand or couldn’t do before you began guitar lessons with Littleton Guitar School:

CF:

  1. Understand the fret board of a guitar
  2. Play chords and songs
  3. Ability to pick up a sheet of music (at my level) and understand what it means and the basics of how to play it

LGS: What is your favorite thing about the guitar lessons?

CF: I love being able to play even the simplest of songs and seeing the progression of my ability from what seemed impossible during the first lesson!

LGS: If you were to recommend me to a friend who wanted to learn to play the guitar, what would you tell them?

CF:I would say the lessons are relaxed, fun and no pressure. The actual space of where the lessons takes place is cool because it doesn’t seem like you are going to a be put in a tiny room next to another tiny room with a 9 year old working through violin lessons, ha! Allowing for an environment dedicated solely to learning how to play guitar.

LGS: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

CF: While private lessons are an option, being in a group learning with other students really allows improvement because you get to hear and see how others at the same level are doing and figuring things out. The online learning resource is also a nice tool for the students.
